Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Job Summary
A leading importer and distributor of food is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Plant Controller to oversee all financial operations at its processing facility. This role will play a key part in driving performance, managing cost controls, ensuring financial compliance, and partnering with plant leadership to support business goals.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all plant-level accounting functions including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Partner with operations leadership to track production KPIs and implement cost-saving initiatives
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct reconciliations, and ensure accurate product costing
• Prepare monthly plant financial statements and operational reporting
• Support financial audits, ensure SOX/internal control compliance where applicable
• Analyze labor, overhead, and material costs to improve financial performance
• Provide decision support for capital investments, pricing strategies, and vendor negotiations
• Lead and develop the plant finance team and improve internal processes
  

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory control
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics Preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills; strong analytical and communication abilities
• Hands-on, proactive approach with attention to detail and process improvement mindset
