Compensation: $120,000 $150,000

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

Are you a strategic and hands-on accounting leader ready to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit healthcare space? We're seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive financial excellence for a mission-driven organization in Mt. Vernon, NY.

This is a fully onsite role offering the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and leadership, contributing directly to the financial health and operational success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 6 direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, and industry-specific standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Implement and optimize accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Must-Have Qualifications

• MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record of leadership.
• Demonstrated success in managing accounting teams and driving operational improvements.
• Industry experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or nursing home environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, and reporting tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $72.12/hr.
