JOB SUMMARY
As a Retail Sales Team Member, you will engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering positive experiences that align with our company’s values. You’ll also help maintain store cleanliness, safety standards, and provide care for the pets in our store.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Enhancing the pet parent experience through in-person and online interactions.
- Greeting customers and assisting with their inquiries.
- Preparing online orders for in-store pickup and ensuring a seamless experience.
- Caring for store-owned pets, including feeding and cleaning habitats.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
- Assisting with weekly pricing updates and monthly promotions.
- Restocking and organizing products on the sales floor.
- Recommending and selling merchandise, services, and live pets.
- Administering medications to store pets as directed by a veterinarian.
- Promoting special events such as adoption weekends and charity events.
- Ensuring a safe environment for our team, pets, and customers.
- Acting swiftly in the case of an ill or injured pet.
- Assisting in various store areas as required.
- Contributing to our culture of belonging and recognition.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and engage in physical activities that require handling and reaching.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds; team lifting may be necessary for items over 100 pounds.
- Exposure to varying noise levels and environments including pet hair and live animals.
