Job Description and Essential Functions
Department: Cutting Job Title: Cutting Specialist
Education Requirement(s): Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
Summary :
Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Support the purpose of the team as stated in the "why" page by participating in initiatives and activities, and attending all meetings scheduled during shift. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.
Safety:
Required PPE must be worn while on your job. At a minimum safety glasses, steel toe shoes and hearing protection. Gloves must be worn on the production floor and warehouses at all times. Please see Appendix A and Appendix B (Conover Specific) attached to the WestRock Glove Policy (CompliantPro). Bump cap per company policy
Required All safety policies and guidelines must be followed.

Training:
Training requirements for this position are maintained in the Training Module of Compliant Pro.
Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and guidelines, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.
Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, cut resistant gloves, ear plugs, hair nets, beard nets.
Essential Skills
Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math) : Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler.) Learn to operate barcode detection scanner. Lift truck certification and pallet jack operation. General mechanical aptitude. Pass Farnsworth Munsel-100 Hue Test.
Written/Verbal Communications Skills : Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.
Computer Skills : Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of Cartons : Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
Essential/Marginal Functions and Physical Requirements :
Essential : Feeds printed loads into the cutting press using either a manual or electric pallet jack. Lifts and inserts loads, climbs stairs.
Marginal: May occasionally fill in for cutting operator or drive a tow motor (certification required).
