Safety, Environmental and Security Manager

The Safety, Environmental, and Security Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, procedures, and initiatives to safeguard employees, assets, the environment, and the surrounding community. This role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, risk management, and security operations within a complex facility environment.

You will serve as the company's subject matter expert for Corporate Requirements, OSHA, EPA, DHS, HOP philosophy, and other applicable regulations, overseeing internal and contract security operations, and leading a culture of proactive hazard prevention and environmental responsibility.

Key Position-Related Responsibilities

Safety Management

  Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with Company Requirements, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

  Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and routine safety inspections.

  Work with HOP team to implement HOP philosophy throughout facility and functions.

• n

  Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

  Organize and deliver safety training and drills for employees and contractors.

  n
n

Environmental Compliance

• n

  Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and permits (e.g., EPA, DEP).

• n

  Oversee hazardous waste management, spill prevention, stormwater protection, and air quality monitoring programs.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain required environmental records and submit timely reports to regulatory agencies.

• n

  Champion sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.

n

Security Management

n
• n

  Direct physical security programs, policies, and procedures to safeguard people, property, and information.

  n

• n

  Manage security staff and contractors, ensuring coverage and readiness.

  n

• n

  Oversee access control systems, surveillance equipment, and visitor management protocols.

• n

  Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

n

Emergency Preparedness & Response

• n

  Develop and execute emergency response and business continuity plans.

• n

  Lead regular drills for fire, evacuation, active threat, spill containment, and severe weather scenarios.

• n

  Serve as Incident Commander during significant events until relieved by emergency services.

Education and Qualifications

n
• n

  Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Security Management, Engineering, or related field.

• n

  Minimum 7 years of combined EHS and security management experience in a complex industrial, manufacturing, research, or similar environment.

• n

  Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DHS, NFPA, DOT, HOP and other applicable regulations.

• n

  Proven track record leading safety, environmental, and security programs.

  n
n
• n

  Able to lead Learning Teams and Focus Groups.

• n

  Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.

  n
n
• n

  Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and emergency planning.

Preferred Technical Skills

• n

  Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or equivalent.

  Experience with ISO 14001 or similar environmental management systems.

• n

  Prior management experience in high-hazard or highly regulated facility.

Pay Range:$109,000 - $129,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:15

Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
