Project Controls And Operations Lead
The Project Controls and Operations Lead provides strategic oversight and hands-on implementation of project controls and operational processes across a designated client account, property portfolio, or large facility. This role focuses on optimizing internal workflows, enhancing vendor performance, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration. Acting as a key partner to both internal teams and client stakeholders, the Lead ensures alignment with client expectations, promotes adoption of delivery models, and supports transformation initiatives across the portfolio.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Document, maintain, and improve internal team processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through post-project reviews and lessons learned.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex operational issues.
- Client Transformation & Change Management
- Advise C&W on transformation opportunities within the client's project delivery processes.
- Support change management efforts to promote adoption of C&W delivery models across client stakeholder groups (IT, Security, Procurement, etc.).
- Build effective partnerships between C&W and client's internal business units.
- Data & Performance Management
- Develop team metrics, dashboards, and reports to track performance and inform decision-making.
- Monitor progress toward CPI/KPI targets and ensure project teams meet account requirements.
- Training & Team Engagement
- Lead internal training initiatives including onboarding, essential learning, and welfare checks.
- Promote team capabilities through internal communications and intranet content.
- Vendor Oversight
- Manage vendor contracts, renewals, invoice payments, and performance tracking.
- Contribute to system enhancements and software customization to improve vendor management.
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software, Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
Relevant Experience
- 57 years in commercial or industrial real estate, with a focus on project controls and operations.
- Experience with procurement and invoicing systems, project management software, and reporting platforms.
- Proven ability to document and improve processes using SOPs and playbooks.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel (pivot tables, macros), and reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with performance management methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Knowledge of control systems (PLCs, SCADA) and facility operations is beneficial.
