- 7 on/7 off schedule -- Monday through Sunday coverage with mixed day and call shifts
- Daily patient load: 8 - 10 inpatients with approximately 3 admissions
- Weekday shifts 7am - 430pm, weekend coverage includes 4 hours onsite
- 20-minute call response time required with 1:3 call ratio
- Call can be taken from accommodations when not required onsite
- Average 5 phone consultations per shift
- Involves both independent and team-based rounding
- Cardiovascular surgery daily team meetings participation required
