Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions using AWS, React Js, SQL, Spring Boot, and Java. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications that drive business success. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and on-site ensuring a balanced work-life experience.

Location: New York

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions using AWS, React Js, SQL, Spring Boot, and Java.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle ensuring timely delivery of high-quality applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements translating them into technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting regular code reviews and implementing best practices.
• Optimize application performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
• Coordinate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all software projects ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies incorporating them into project development where applicable.
• Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to provide project updates and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Drive innovation by exploring new tools and technologies that enhance software development processes.
• Contribute to the companys mission by delivering impactful software solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.

Qualifications:

• Possess a strong background in AWS, React Js, SQL, Spring Boot, and Java with proven experience in developing complex applications.
• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Exhibit strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Show a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
• Have a track record of successfully leading software development projects from inception to completion.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $138,500 - $162,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
