Job Summary

Ensures that all services are delivered in accordance with the mission statement and SPIRIT values of Carroll Hospital Center. The OB Technician/Unit Secretary is responsible for assisting the nurse in providing care to mother and infant during labor and post delivery. Is responsible for stocking rooms, cleaning and checking equipment and other duties as assigned. She/he also provides surgical assistance to the obstetrician during C/sections and tubal ligations. Care provided is directed by the RN and within the OBT's performance standards. The Unit Secretary position is accountable to the basic standards of practice defined in the US Performance Standards. Responsible for the receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit while functioning as a communication source. Ability to provide care, observe, and obtain information, understand the range of treatment needed, and report significant findings to the appropriate care giver to ensure that appropriate care is provided to neonates, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

Requirements

• Preferred High School Diploma High School Graduate
• 2-4 years Required
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
• CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
