Job Title: Insurance Litigation Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A respected law firm in San Diego, CA is looking for a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team with a focus on insurance defense. The ideal candidate will bring a strong litigation background and a keen interest in insurance claims defense, playing an integral role in case management and trial preparation. This position offers opportunities for professional development within a supportive, collaborative environment, with exposure to diverse and challenging legal matters.
Duties:
- Represent clients in all stages of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and memoranda, to support insurance defense cases.
- Manage depositions, witness interviews, and expert consultations as part of the discovery process.
- Analyze legal issues and provide strategic recommendations related to coverage and defense strategies.
- Work closely with senior attorneys, clients, and external partners to ensure optimal legal outcomes.
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration processes.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice in California.
- 1-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for insurance defense or similar fields.
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral communication skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- High commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the California State Bar.
Skills:
- Litigation and legal research proficiency.
- Strong drafting and writing skills.
- Experience with deposition, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
