Associate, Crisis Clinician - Beaver Crisis Services

Beaver County Crisis Services provides 24/7 mobile crisis response, phone support, and walk-in services to individuals experiencing emotional distress or psychiatric emergencies. Our team delivers compassionate, recovery-oriented care in collaboration with law enforcement, healthcare facilities, schools and other community partners.

Our Crisis Clinician Associate will be working in all three departments including phone, walk-in clinic, and mobile community calls. This position will require consistent ability to respond calmly and effectively in both psychiatric and medical emergencies as well as use good clinical judgement. This position will require evenings, weekends, and rotating overnight shifts. Support will be needed especially during evening and overnight hours. May be required to assume on call responsibilities when needed.

Our Crisis Clinicians are eligible for a Sign on Bonus!

3 year - $5000

Responsibilities:

• Successfully participate in and complete Crisis Clinician orientation process.

• Work with crisis leadership to develop assessment, de-escalation, documentation, and motivational interviewing skills.

• Learn to utilize the Electronic Medical Record to obtain relevant information and complete documentation.

• Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability by utilizing a person centered, strength-based model of intervention.

• Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting.

• Support consumer and negotiate appropriate referral services.

• Consults with the Clinician II to establish disposition plans.

• Meets documentation expectations and completes all required paperwork.

• Completes face to face crisis assessments.

• Responds to telephone calls from consumer(s), community, and natural supports.

• Manages crisis situations effectively using positive approaches.

• Participate in interdisciplinary activities such as trainings and staff meetings.

• Completes case reviews.

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.

Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience. (Preferred other fields of study include: sociology, gerontology, anthropology, criminal justice, nursing, or education)

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

• Driver's License

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

• Act 33 with renewal

• Act 34 with renewal

• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
