Accounts Receivable Specialist
This position is responsible for applying cash to customer accounts, monitoring rebate programs, and handling related deductions. The role requires collaboration with key personnel and customer contacts to achieve positive results in meeting company goals regarding accounts receivable.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with customers and the sales group to resolve payments on aged items and maintain a low level of aged customer items.
- Post customer payments to accounts accurately.
- Apply rebates, deductions, credits, etc., accurately to customer accounts.
- Investigate and resolve customer disputes, rebates, deductions, and customer portal issues in a timely manner.
- Ask relevant questions related to customer activity (RMAs, rebates, disputes, etc.) to ensure proper accountability and business processes.
- Review customer portals weekly to ensure all invoices are processed and capture any new deductions customers may take.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in accounts receivable, with at least one year in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
- Understanding of the general accounts receivable cycle and process.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.
- A strong desire to collaborate throughout the organization.
- An inquisitive mindset and not afraid to ask questions.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
- A desire for continuous learning.
- Maintaining a high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
Work Environment:
The work schedule includes working in the office from Monday to Thursday and working from home on Fridays.
Job Type & Location:
This is a contract to hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.50/hr.
