Job Details
If you are dedicated to providing life-saving care to critically ill children, consider joining our team as a Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In this impactful role, you will deliver specialized respiratory support tailored to young patients facing severe respiratory conditions or injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate pediatric patients' respiratory conditions and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the PICU team.
- Administer critical respiratory therapies such as mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications as directed by physicians.
- Continuously monitor ventilator settings and make necessary adjustments based on patients' responses and clinical status.
- Educate families on respiratory care techniques and the use of equipment to facilitate recovery after discharge from the PICU.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all treatments and monitor patient progress throughout their PICU stay.
Work Environment:
- This role is situated within hospital PICUs, where respiratory therapists work closely with critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive care support.
- Expect to employ quick decision-making skills and maintain composure in high-pressure situations while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
