Job Description

Explore with us and start your journey as a Senior Geologist in our Portland, Oregon office! This position is based out of Portland and will collaborate with our Seattle location on projects for a diverse client base in public and private sectors, including commercial, industrial, government, property development, and institutional entities.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Environmental Group Manager and Office Manager to supervise office and regional SI/REM teams, ensuring timely, within-budget project completion that meets client expectations.
• Assist in preparing proposals for site investigation, characterization, and remediation projects.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; monitor activities and allocate resources effectively.
• Coach and mentor staff on data quality and reporting standards.
• Lead daily operations, emphasizing safety, staff development, service quality, and client relations.
• Engage in market development, client engagement, and team recruitment and mentoring.
• Design and implement site characterization and remediation strategies, including soil and groundwater remediation actions.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in investigations, feasibility studies, and development of remediation plans and applications.
• Coordinate with other departments for resource allocation and project support.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare progress reports.
• Manage financial aspects, including invoicing and collections.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies in line with company policies.
• Lead complex investigation proposals using innovative techniques and supervise remediation system installation and O&M.
• Maintain quality standards and improve project processes.
• Develop client management skills and drive sector growth locally and nationally.
• Promote safety and ensure team compliance with safety protocols.
• Participate in marketing and presentation activities to clients.

Requirements

• Understanding of Oregon State UST and environmental cleanup regulations, and Washington State Toxics Control Act.
• Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of experience in environmental investigations, remedial design, and implementation.
• Professional Geologist (PG) license, preferably Oregon Registered Geologist (RG).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
• Completed OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
