Overview

Software Engineering Manager, Google Cloud, Global Networking. Lead a team of engineers, provide technical direction, and help develop your team while contributing to product strategy and software delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high performing team of software engineers.
• Provide technical guidance to the team as they design, develop, integrate and test features for availability, scaling, and NPIs.
• Prioritize work and ensure incremental progress, even when problems are complex.
• Help team members and partner teams understand the broader context and solve the right problems at the right time.
• Be comfortable with changes in the execution plan if they enable the right impact for Google.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Compensation and Location

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
