The ServiceNow Lead Developer will be a part of transformative team that is focused on optimizing the teammate support experience at Truist. This lead will collaborate with analysts and product owners to design and implement solutions that meet the business need, optimizes product capabilities, and deliver a frictionless support experiences for our teammates. This teammate will bring significant experience across multiple ServiceNow modules, but with specific depth in the implementation and optimization of Employee Center Pro, ITSM, WSD, and mobile implementation. This experienced developer will have extensive experience with implementing ServiceNow spokes and custom integrations with HR and endpoint management applications. They will be responsible for high-quality, scalable, and reusable solutions while ensuring best practice in coding standards, integration, extensibility and security.

Day-to-day will involve review, development, testing, defect remediation and implementation of application specific development requests. You will partner with platform architecture, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and technical implementation to ensure use cases are met in the most effective manner for the underlying ServiceNow platform. You will create a collaborative development team environment and guide junior team members. Provide request review and feedback to product owners including estimated work effort, dependencies and sustainability during prioritization meetings aligning to Truist's mission and goals.

This position will be office-centric 4 days a week in one of the listed Truist hubs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop customized coding, software integration, perform analysis, configure solutions, using tools specific to the project or the area.

2. Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards, including robust unit testing and support for subsequent release testing.

3. Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production.

4. Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards.

5. Typically lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger, more complex initiatives.

6. Solve complex technical and operational problems. Act as a resource for teammates with less experience

7. May oversee the work of a small team.

8. In an Agile environment: Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and engage with, the business from the beginning of the design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for design, developing, and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities, providing warranty support, and providing knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience

2. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices

3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function

4. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices

5. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

1. ServiceNow certifications of CAD, CIS, CTA, and ITIL.

2. Banking or financial services experience.

3. While foundational knowledge of ITSM is required, preferred candidates should have extensive experience in Employee Center Pro and Mobile implementations, with some additional experience in HRSD, SPM and Demand modules.

4. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow's Integration Hub and sophisticated use of REST/SOAP APIs.

5. Strong experience creating Dashboards/Reports - Performance/Platform Analytics.

6. Strong understanding and demonstration of human centered design principles for optimizing end user experience.

7. Strong communication skills in presenting solution designs that clearly translating business requirements. Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.

8. Experience with developing and defining development principles and guidelines to ensure quality delivery.
