PRIMARY PURPOSE: To handle complex litigated and non-litigated cases involving serious injuries, general liability, and employment practice liability. You will develop strategies for resolving cases satisfactorily and within client service instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Review and act on reports/forms, responding to inquiries, seeking legal opinions, and communicating resolutions to relevant parties.
- Manage the litigation process for litigated claims, adhering to defense counsel guidelines and service expectations.
- Respond to decisions, agreements, and/or court orders, creating actionable plans.
- Identify opportunities for early resolution of cases.
- Gather and document additional information while coordinating with client representatives.
- Identify issues and formulate defense strategies with the defense team.
- Establish and adjust accrued liability, approving necessary legal expenses.
- Recognize subrogation opportunities and ensure appropriate tendering.
- Participate in mediations, trials, arbitrations, or hearings, typically via virtual platforms such as ZOOM.
- Coordinate strategy calls with the defense team for preparation and mock openings pre-trial.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality programs.
Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Professional certification applicable to the line of business is also preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in litigation including five years of liability claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and specific location. For this position, the starting pay range is $77,000 - $105,000. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, and additional voluntary benefits.
