We're currently seeking a Product Design Senior Director to lead our Commercial Card Experience team, which is part of the Experience Design organization.

The Commercial Card Experience team delivers a suite of software that helps businesses run their business with confidence. Role Expectations

As Senior Director of Commercial Card Experience, you'll lead a talented, cross-disciplinary team of design leaders and designers, collaborate deeply with our research teams and Product and Technology leadership. You'll be responsible for identifying and advocating for high-leverage opportunities with executive stakeholders and leading high-impact, highly complex design projects that set the bar for and drive experience excellence and business outcomes.

You will envision, design, deliver and optimize experiences across channels (including web, mobile, human to human) and emerging technologies (such as agentic AI) to help business teams run their business with confidence. This will include products and experiences such as:

• Onboarding and managing business teams across a suite of business credit card, rewards, payment solutions to fit into their unique combination of needs, workflows and software
• Managing vendors, payments, getting paid, and spend controls across their business
• Integrating software to ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning), accounting systems and HR systems to deliver reliable data, monitor cashflow and receive insights to inform financial decisions
• Managing corporate cards and digital wallets for different types of business users (C suite, head of a department, project teams etc.)

• Collaboration: Connect the dots across the organization, proactively bringing together executive partners in ways that drive more coherent experiences, accelerate delivery and elevate the value of design.
• Communication: Present work to executive leaders and stakeholders, modeling a strategic human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to make the complex accessible, influence change and drive strategic direction.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating your leadership, process, results and impact.

• At least 10 years of experience in leading product design teams and delivering products to market
• At least 3 years managing managers

• At least 12 years of experience in leading product design teams and delivering products to market
• Experience in a design toolkit that spans product design, service design, design strategy and content design
• Deep experience leading product design teams operating across UX and UI, strategy, content, and research from strategy through delivery to market
• Deep experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing, and analytics leaders across multiple business lines to shape strategy, performance metrics, roadmaps, and operating models
• Deep experience interfacing with executive leadership to solve problems, influence key decisions, and drive results across strategy, design, roadmaps and investments
• Experience working within a design system
• Proficiency with web and mobile technologies and platforms, navigating technology considerations and constraints to drive sound product and experience decisions
• Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
• Experience managing an interdisciplinary design team
• Proficiency working with technology and platform teams to develop new systems, platforms and investigate new technologies, tools and interaction models such as LLMs and agentic AI
• Proficiency in business case development, grounding product and user experience decisions to business value
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and relationship building across complex organizations
• Exceptional people management and development skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700 for Sr. Director, Design

New York, NY: $288,400 - $329,100 for Sr. Director, Design

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
