We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring that all bids are competitive and comprehensive.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for site/civil construction projects including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure development.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine the scope of work and necessary resources.

• Develop and maintain pricing databases and cost models to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

• Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to incorporate into overall project estimates.

• Prepare and submit competitive bids for construction projects, ensuring they align with project specifications and client requirements.

• Manage change orders and ensure accurate pricing adjustments.

• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address changes in project scope and budget.

• Utilize HCSS software for estimating and project management, ensuring accurate entry and maintenance of all estimates.

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates.

• Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters.

• Monitor and report on project costs and budgets, providing regular updates to management on cost performance and potential issues.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in the site/civil construction industry.

• Proficiency in HCSS software.

• Strong knowledge of change orders, pricing, and bidding processes.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Bluebeam, subcontractor management, and project management software such as Procore.

• Experience in heavy civil construction, including highways, roadways, and bridge construction.

• Understanding of preconstruction, cost estimating, and proposal development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $88.00 - $90.00/hr.
