Network Implementation Engineer

Join us in supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in providing, operating, and assuring command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services. This position is critical to the DISA-provided capabilities and services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Implementation Engineer III . In this role, you will supervise installations, configure, test, monitor, service network equipment, and activate networks for projects supporting Department of Defense networks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with customers, perform Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execute reporting functions, and input data associated with new network equipment and service activations to ensure compliance with DISA standards.

• Configure and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network using Cisco and Juniper devices with tailored baseline configurations for each site.

• Upgrade software on Cisco and Juniper devices as required.

• Create and update project planning documentation to effectively institute IP addressing schemes and assign ports on out-of-band management nodes.

• Utilize systems analysis techniques and collaborate with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements to support customer resources.

• Ensure all information, including Points of Contact (POC), locations, and interfaces, is accurate and conforms to provided standards.

• Verify POC correctness for each circuit traversing location.

• Work with DISA project managers and/or customers to troubleshoot issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.

• Engage stakeholders and secure necessary approvals to maintain project momentum.

Basic Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of network hardware specifications, configuration, testing processes, and industry standards.

• Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.

• Understanding of networking architecture, evaluating, and recommending technologies to enhance capabilities and performing needs assessments.

• Familiarity with data and voice network design utilizing various transmission systems, and military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS.

• Experience with key network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP) and appliances (routers, load balancers, firewalls).

• Proficiency in configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.

• Successful teamwork experience, coupled with self-motivation to complete assignments and grow in expertise.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

• An active Secret security clearance is mandatory.

• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with DISA or familiarity with DISA systems and processes.

• Experience with SharePoint data entry and order processing.

• Ability to order services on behalf of customers; you'll enter service requests into DISA Storefront (DSF).

• Customer engagement to ensure accuracy of POC, location, and interface.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A BS in a relevant field with 4-8 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience is required. (Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.)

Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
