Mechanic

EMCOR Hyre Electric Co of Indiana, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to assist with the repair and maintain diesel and gasoline powered construction equipment and vehicles and assist as a delivery driver to support project jobsites. Good driving record and CDL License REQUIRED (Class B minimum). Applicants with Military experience are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered equipment and vehicles.
• Make repairs in a conscious and timely manner.
• Report to the Shop Manager all problems and potential issues that arise.
• Prompt and accurate completion of work orders in a legible manner.
• Regularly check all vehicles and equipment due for maintenance.
• Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, OSHA, and safety programs as established.
• Assist as a delivery driver to support project jobsites.

Position Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience working on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Flexible work schedule
• Good driving record, ability to pass DOT medical exam.
• CDL License REQUIRED (Class B minimum)
• Have an excellent attitude towards safety and firm adherence to safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms.

The employee is required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves twenty-five (25) to fifty (50) pounds. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move fifty (50) pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel to remote field locations.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will regularly work in typical shop environment conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee will also frequently work at construction field sites when visiting field locations.
