Responsibilities

The Facilities Engineer serves as the primary resource for day-to-day technical guidance for Facilities Engineering. The position will represent the interests of facilities engineering by serving as a liaison with project management and construction activities. In addition, the position will manage and coordinate a variety of expensed projects funded by Facilities Engineering.

Responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to the following:

   Establish and maintain design standards and details for Facilities Engineering

   n

2. n

   Periodically review and monitor construction projects for compliance with design standards.

   n
n
3. n

   Assist Project Management in effectively coordinating utility shutdown requests.

   n
n
4. n

   Participate in development of final punchlist and project closeout documentation.

   n
n
5. n

   Assist in the resolution of technical engineering problems.

   n
n
6. n

   Evaluate technical opportunities for operational improvements.

   n
n
7. n

   Manage maintenance and improvement projects funded by Facilities Engineering.

   n

8. n

   Monitor utility trends.

   n
n

The incumbent may drive a Mayo Clinic vehicle on a regular or occasional basis.

Qualifications

n
• n

  Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree required.

  n
n
• n

  Requires 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an engineering field.

  n
n
• n

  3 years experience in construction, and facilities engineering practices within a healthcare setting preferred.

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.

  n
n
• n

  Must have excellent communication and writing skills.

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of Windows NT, Office 97 and Excel desired.

  n
n

Valid Arizona driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
