Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations HR Business Partner to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to both field and Corporate HR, leveraging your independent judgment to apply Company policies equitably while adhering to applicable employment laws and established practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise management on the proper resolution of employee relations issues, considering applicable federal and state employment laws, Company policies, and historical precedence.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Determine suitable levels of disciplinary action based on circumstances while defending the organization’s decisions grounded in precedent and policy.
- Prepare corrective action documents, employee separation notices, and related documentation after reviewing circumstances and advising management on potential risks.
- Conduct thorough investigations of internal complaints regarding harassment, discrimination, and other employment-related matters.
- Serve as a strategic partner to leadership, addressing systemic issues arising from investigations and facilitating education on relevant topics identified during these processes.
- Be mindful of concerns in related areas (such as Health Care Compliance and Safety) and ensure appropriate referrals to relevant department personnel.
- Assist Corporate Benefits in managing FMLA and ADA cases.
- Conduct internal investigations for claims from external agencies and collaborate with outside counsel for additional inquiries, information gathering, and interviews.
- Identify applicable legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions, ensuring compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Participate in management training sessions focused on interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and handling harassment/discrimination issues as required.
- Represent the organization at employment-related hearings and investigations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This role currently offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in-office; 2 days working from home).
- Travel is required for location visits, investigations, agency audits, and legal matters, typically not exceeding 30% of the job.
