Primary Responsibilities:
This position will oversee the recruitment and hiring of drivers, ensuring that we attract and hire top talent according to U.S. Xpress hiring guidelines and DOT regulations. You will:
- Lead the driver recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates
- Assess applicants against U.S. Xpress hiring guidelines, reviewing their MVR, DAC, and criminal background reports
- Provide potential candidates with information about job openings
- Maintain knowledge of compensation offerings and benefits
- Collaborate effectively with leadership to address and resolve recruitment challenges
- Utilize de-escalation skills when handling sensitive disqualification decisions
- Accurately input driver information into our recruitment systems
- Promote company-wide recruitment programs and initiatives
- Communicate our mission and culture to help candidates understand their potential impact
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- An associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years in a call center, inside sales, or related field (experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred)
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to build rapport quickly and effectively over the phone
This position is based at our headquarters with a general work schedule of 9 am to 6 pm. Limited remote work options are available. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.
