An industry-leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Assurance Director to lead and enhance our quality initiatives. This position is responsible for supervising quality operations, developing continuous improvement strategies, and ensuring compliance with customer and government quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in quality management, a deep understanding of ISO standards, and experience with DoD contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and resolve process, supplier, and customer quality issues, ensuring long-term solutions are implemented.
- Supervise and mentor Quality Management, Auditing, and Configuration Management teams, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement.
- Develop and drive Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives across the organization.
- Implement and manage corrective/preventive action systems to eliminate recurring production and quality deficiencies.
- Serve as the ISO 9000 Management Representative, ensuring compliance and driving enhancements to quality systems.
- Collaborate with customers and government representatives to exceed quality standards and address evolving requirements.
- Analyze and optimize processes using data-driven approaches to identify improvement opportunities.
- Oversee contract reviews, ensuring QA specifications are effectively incorporated into proposals and executed post-award.
Job Requirements
Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience with DoD contracts
- 5+ years of quality management/leadership experience within a defense, pyrotechnic or related manufacturing field
- Proven experience driving change and implementing process improvements in a quality department
