The Assistant Director of the Annual Fund reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Advancement and collaborates closely with the Director of the Annual Fund, serving as a vital member of the Annual Giving team. This position plays a crucial role in building relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and enhancing annual fundraising efforts to support Husky Athletics. The Assistant Director interacts daily with donors and prospects, connecting them to the mission of Husky Athletics and offering meaningful intercollegiate experiences.

Responsibilities

• Team Support: Oversee the Team Support initiatives and work with Tyee Club colleagues to achieve individual team fundraising goals. Approximately, $4M collectively, annually.
• Work with coaches, directors of team operations alumni and volunteers (team support groups) to develop strategies and assist in their efforts to enhance individual fundraising efforts for all Husky Athletics teams and programs.
• Manage individual team solicitations to strategic segments to renew and grow that specific team’s donor base and revenue. Includes direct mail, electronic and other types of fundraising outreach. Coordinate writing, mailing and segmentation for each project.
• Lead on crowdfunding efforts, including Go BIG! for Washington Day, our athletics-only Day of Giving, focusing on cultivating support for our program-specific Husky Sports Funds.
• Provide support as needed with individual team alumni and fundraising events.
• Work closely and partner when appropriate with Director of Big W Club to strategize and coordinate former athlete outreach efforts to increase alumni engagement and fundraising.
• Engage all associated parties to tell the story of our student-athletes by collaborating with Tyee and department marketing groups.

• Customer Service And Stewardship: Provide a direct contact for donors on a day-to-day basis offering excellent customer service, providing solutions to problems and educating them on Tyee Club policies and the priority point system.
• Maintain a staff assigned segment of Tyee Club donors to provide specialized one-on-one stewardship, prospecting and excellent customer service.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals capable of making gifts up to $25,000. Emphasis is on securing multi-year pledges. Generate new leads for major gift prospects through annual giving activities. Work with major gift officers in developing and executing solicitation strategies.

• Football: Work with the Associate Athletic Director for Advancement to assist with football renewals and enhanced stewardship efforts for donors in Husky Stadium Premium Seating areas, specifically in the Don James Center. Work with Director of Stewardship and Special Events Director to ensure a great game day experience in all premium seating areas.

• Data Management: Collaborate with Husky Ticket Office and lead Tyee Club Staff on work related to Paciolan and PacFund data management including data entry processes, point calculations and system maintenance. Maintain proficiency in CRM tools (Tandem) to support donor management and reporting.

• General: Work closely with other departments within Husky Athletics including the Husky Ticket Office, Outside Sales Team, Marketing, Media Relations, Facilities and Special Events to renew and raise new annual funds through calling campaigns and other external efforts. As assigned, work with other internal and external volunteer and/or donor groups under the Tyee Club umbrella which may include groups such as the Tyee Sports Council, Young Tyee Club and the Tyee Club graduate assistant staff. Perform related duties as required.

Compliance and Requirements

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree plus three years of experience in institutional development, communications or other development experience. A strong background in direct marketing or sales may be substituted. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.

Additional Requirements

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Requirements

• Experience with digital communication and social media.
• Experience working within a collegiate athletic environment and knowledge of University of Washington Athletics and Puget Sound region is desirable.

Compensation, Benefits And Position Details

• Pay Range Minimum: $68,964.00 annual
• Pay Range Maximum: $81,000.00 annual
• Other Compensation: Taxable benefits include tickets to UW Intercollegiate home competitions. Non-local candidates may be eligible for a moving allowance.
