Responsibilities

The Agentic Systems Engineer will architect and operationalize multi-agent orchestration logic, enabling autonomous coordination, planning, and self-validation. Core responsibilities include:

1. Architect and operationalize multi-agent orchestration logic, enabling autonomous coordination, planning, etc.
2. Design and maintain agent-to-agent (A2A) coordination frameworks leveraging standardized protocols (FIPA ACL, KQML) and event-driven architectures (e.g., AWS).
3. Implement structured, semantically rich message schemas and event buses to enable asynchronous, decoupled task orchestration.
4. Ensure secure, traceable, and auditable agent collaboration using Model Context Protocol (MCP) for agent-tool/data integration.
5. Build autonomous agents, enabling continuous self-evaluation of performance, compliance, and mission alignment.
6. Work with AI/ML engineers and data scientists to integrate agent logic, agent messaging, and related into the unified agentic ecosystem.
7. Ensure the overall architecture aligns with NGA CORE environment requirements and broader DoD/IC governance and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, AI/ML, Systems Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI-driven systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building complex orchestration logic, planning engines, or multi-agent systems
• Experience implementing event-driven or distributed systems using REST APIs, microservices, or message buses
• Solid understanding of AI/ML model lifecycle and autonomous decision-making architectures
• Familiarity with system assurance, testing, and IV&V concepts
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in AI/ML, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience designing:
  • Agentic orchestration frameworks and coordination protocols.
  • Meta-reasoner or planner components in multi-agent environments.
  • Automated AI pipelines for self-monitoring autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with NGA CORE environments or other secure government cloud platforms.
• Experience contributing to or extending open-source AI frameworks.

Overview

We are seeking an Agentic Systems Engineer to support National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts. This engineer will play an important role helping to create technical solutions for multiple AI challenges.
