Accountant III

Overview

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking Accountant to join our team and will report into the Controller office. This position will support initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of our financial close and reporting processes. In this hands-on position, you will analyze accounting workstreams, recommend improvements and/or implement tools that will drive efficiencies, improve internal controls, and influence decisions that impact the accounting organization. This position is charged with meeting company and departmental goals while focusing on compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures. You will engage with a high performing team to perform root cause analysis and drive remediation efforts while engaging across various business stakeholders. Responsibilities

The role supports initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of financial close and reporting processes, analyzes accounting workstreams, recommends improvements, implements tools, drives efficiencies, strengthens internal controls, and influences decisions within the accounting organization. You will engage with cross-functional stakeholders and the Controller office to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting background and/or business advisory background.
• Proficient in technology, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to communicate accounting concepts to all levels of management and peers.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.
• Skilled in prioritizing tasks with a heightened sense of urgency.
• Self-starter who completes projects and has a passion for continual improvement.

Desired

• Master's degree or CPA.
• Business Intelligence interfaces (Cognos, Tableau, etc.), with strong data mining and Excel workpaper building abilities.

Compensation

• Compensation Range For WA applicants is $93,274.00-$130,583.25

Export Control Regulations

Background Check

• Blue’s Standard Background Check is required for all positions.
• Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check may be required for roles that require access to military installations.
• For certain job profiles: CDL and related regulations may apply if transporting hazardous materials or operating certain vehicles.
