Tax Accountant

LHH is working with an accounting firm to find an accounting professional who can handle tax processing tasks. This Tax Accountant role is a temporary opportunity. You do not need to have your CPA license to be considered. You will be working with a variety of their clients and be handling bookkeeping responsibilities as well as tax preparation duties. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience preparing individual or corporate taxes, and will be comfortable meeting strict deadlines. You will need to work fully onsite to start in the office in Seattle, WA but there will be opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after you are comfortable with the clients and the workload.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales, and property tax returns.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents.
• Assist in developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance financial efficiency.
• Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on changes that may impact the company.
• Analyze financial data to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation related to tax filings, audits, and compliance activities. Prepare supporting schedules and reports as needed.
• Handle reconciliations or financial statement preparation for clients when needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably in a corporate setting or public accounting firm.
• In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Experience with tax software and ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $36.00 per hour
