Veterinary Assistant (Overnight)

VCA Animal Specialty Group, Los Angeles is looking looking for exceptional Technician Assistants that can help the doctors and technicians with various tasks, including restraining for emergency and critical patients for IVC placement, x-rays, blood/urine samples, exams, procedure and surgery prep, assisting with emergency triages, etc. Other responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting the treatment floor, stocking medical supplies, cleaning instruments, maintaining laundry, feeding and walking patients, processing in-house labs samples, and much more.

Job Type: Full-time, 10 hours, 4 days/week

Salary: $ 20 - $ 23 / hr

Shift Differential: one dollar per hour for shifts starting after 6pm

Available shifts: Overnight, 8pm-630am

Applicants should have or be able to do the following:

  At least 1 year experience in animal handling and restraint

  Work Saturday and/or Sunday

  Work the required shifts (posted above)

  Respond quickly and confidently when working on emergency and critical cases

  Maintain respectful and compassionate communication

  Receive and carryout instructions accurately and efficiently with minimal instruction.

  Able to receive feedback in a polite and respectful manner.

  Outstanding organizational and time management skills, including remaining busy during downtime.
