Machine Operator
We are seeking skilled machine operators to apply metal to customer orders and accurately process materials according to work order specifications. The role involves maintaining processing equipment in safe and clean conditions, ensuring the processing area is orderly, and accurately completing all required information entry.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
- Properly and safely set up equipment to run material according to setup note specifications.
- Process setup notes according to work order specifications.
- Verify that product meets setup note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements according to the sampling plan.
- Communicate with appropriate sales representatives regarding changes or clarifications to orders.
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance.
- Properly enter or delete material identification tags as per written instructions.
- Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order.
- Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
- Operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements.
- Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
- Complete job responsibilities in a manner that ensures safety for oneself and others.
- Train others when required.
- Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality improvement.
Essential Skills:
- Certified in material handling.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Basic math skills.
- Reading and writing proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse experience, particularly in the metals industry.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience using handheld measuring tools.
- Computer literacy.
- 2+ years of saw operation experience, particularly in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Understanding of inventory control, blueprint reading, and operating saws to specification.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a warehouse and production environment, requiring familiarity with operating machinery such as saws, forklifts, and cranes. The pace is fast, and materials are cut down to meet customer specifications.

Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
