Full-Time | Competitive Pay | 20 weeks Contract (Possible extension)

Location: Houston, TX 77025

Start & end times of shift: 7AM - 5:30 PM -OR- 8AM – 5 PM

Days of the week they'll work:

• 4-10 Hour shifts per week, Monday - Friday (rotating day off) OR
• 5-8 Hour shifts per week, Monday - Friday

Hourly compensation: $47.00 - $54.00 per hour.

Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to local labor markets. We are open to negotiating compensation based on education, work experience, and certifications. We are complying with all applicable minimum wage laws.

Job Summary:

• Performs diagnostic sonography according to policies, procedures and protocols of the KSC radiology department. Understands and applies technical principles affecting optimal production of sonographic images, as well as anatomical orientations and anomalies affecting final product. Understands age related communication needs of patients and is able to effectively convey instructions to patients to facilitate the performance of sonographic studies
• Participates in Technical Quality Control measures, which include performance of routine equipment maintenance and reporting malfunctions or variances in equipment performance to the Radiology Department Supervisor or his/her designee in the supervisor's absence. Maintains necessary supplies and documentation of cleaning logs as applicable.
• Uses RIS system correctly, according to Clinic and Department guidelines and properly documents, for the radiologist's review, atypical conditions, which could affect image quality and/or content. Understands PACS system and can identify problems with image transmission as they occur and notify Radiology Supervisor or Department Lead Tech when corrective actions are beyond the scope of the technologist.
• Interacts effectively with patients and coworkers, including staff assigned to other locations. Communicates readily and well with Supervisor, Lead Tech and Radiologists in giving and receiving feedback. Must have the ability to understand and respond to questions by giving factual information.
• Conscious of ultrasound safety measures. Utilizes sterile technique when necessary. Complies with all KSC safety initiatives

Must have qualifications/experience:

1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. BLS

3. Minimum 2 years clinical ultrasound experience

4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

5. Ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisition

What does the candidate need to be able to do to be successful in this role?

• High quality patient care and positive bedside manner.
• Consistent, diagnostic image quality with full comprehension of normal and pathological anatomy for Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, and Vascular examinations.
• Breast and procedural experience are preferred but not required.
