Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with large trauma Level 1 and orthopedic experience for a rotating 10-hour shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room (OR) of a large trauma Level 1 hospital
• Assignment length is 6 weeks with 10-hour rotating shifts
• Care for surgical cases including ortho, spine, gen OR, urology, oncology, Da Vinci Robotics, general surgery, ENT, dental, plastics, neuro, CVT, and trauma
• Must be able to scrub and circulate, particularly for ortho/spine surgeries and take ortho call
• Schedule flexibility required, including weekends and call responsibilities
• Use of Epic EMR, recent experience required
• Candidate must be comfortable providing care across a range of specialized surgical services
• No block scheduling allowed for any reason
• Weekends and call shifts are required, with flexibility in scheduling needed
• IVS interview to offer process in place
• Reliable personal transportation is required due to lack of public transportation; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November–April
• COVID and Flu declinations accepted with proof or declination documentation
• First time travelers may not be considered as prior travel experience is highly preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license required; candidates may apply without Vermont licensure if willing to obtain upon commitment
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Large trauma Level 1 experience within the last year required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
• Orthopedic/spine experience required, including ability to both scrub and circulate
• Prior travel experience is highly preferred
