Job Title: System Engineer

Location: Alexandria, VA or Gaithersburg, MD (Onsite)

Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to obtain a CI Poly

Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to work on cloud-based systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operating and sustaining multiple operational cloud-deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of cloud-based systems and administration of Citrix-based desktops in cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer will take a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and respond to complex user INCs (Incident Reports); proactively recommending configuration changes to help improve system performance; Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; update critical databases with new data; author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.

  Requires a BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree

  DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)

  n
n
• n

  Experience with Microsoft Windows Server

  n
n
• n

  Windows administration experience

  n
n
• n

  Experience completing security remediation tasks based on security scans

  n

• n

  Citrix administration experience

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices

  n

• n

  Proficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.

  Experience with AWS architectures and technologies

  n

• n

  Familiar with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.)

• n

  Familiar with Git/GitLab or other source code control tools

  Familiar with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.)

• n

  Familiar with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)

  SAFe Agile Certification

  Experience providing systems engineering support for geospatial products
