Job Location: Arlington, Virginia

Position Responsibilities:

• Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient.
• Respond to large scale events involving these fleets.
• Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers.
• Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization.
• Propose, architect, drive and implement complex technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window, Linux, or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases.
• Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Developer, or a related occupation.
• Must have five (5) years of experience in the following skills: 1) with systems design and software development, operations, automation and process improvement; 2) designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems; 3) deploying and operating in a Linux or Unix environment; and 4) programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Ruby, or related.
