We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer specializing in operating systems, hardware, and GPU technology to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters that support enterprise AI for critical mission objectives.

This is a 100% on-site position, to be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Responsibilities:

• GPU Cluster Engineering: Design, configure, and maintain GPU clusters while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize architectures for performance, energy efficiency, and feature requirements.
• Operating System Integration: Collaborate with AI/ML engineers for the seamless integration of GPUs in Linux systems. Optimize GPU drivers for enhanced compatibility, reliability, and performance, providing ongoing maintenance and updates.
• Performance Optimization: Evaluate GPU performance, detect bottlenecks, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency across both hardware and software.
• Tooling and Automation: Create and maintain debugging tools, profiling utilities, and performance analysis software tailored for Linux environments. Utilize scripting and configuration tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Salt.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure comprehensive technical documentation, architectural specifications, and adherence to Linux best practices while supporting ATO processes and federal security compliance.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 12 years of relevant experience. Additional years may compensate for a missing degree.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering.
• Expertise in managing NVIDIA GPU data center platforms (DGX, HGX, H200, H100, L4s).
• Familiarity with enterprise server components (storage/network controllers, HBA, SSDs).
• Strong proficiency with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle, and Rocky).
• Outstanding problem-solving capabilities and team collaboration skills.
• Must meet DoD -IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security) along with suitable computing environment certification. IAT Level III certification is also acceptable.

Clearance:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship required for compliance with government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes cluster management and AI/ML workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Familiarity with GPU virtualization and cloud computing.
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring performance metrics.
• Knowledge of distributed resource scheduling systems (preferably Slurm).
