Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Because of their continued growth, a General Contractor in the SIOUX FALLS AREA seeks a SUPERINTENDENT to join their team. The Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and management of assigned projects safely, profitably, and timely. The superintendent manages the job site and works in a manner consistent with standards of quality and integrity, and will participate in all construction phases of the projects assigned.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities

• The Superintendent holds the responsibility for project success, including safety, schedule, profitability, and quality.
• Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Champions the orderly, timely completion of projects in the field.
• Coordinates with the Project Manager the means and methods required for the successful and profitable execution of the work.
• Assures coordination with the Project Manager and the procurement schedule with the Project Engineer. Pays special attention to prevention and documentation of delays or changes.
• Uses available reports to manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.
• Reviews and executes all change orders.
• Completes close-out requirements and punch lists promptly.
• Provides feedback to estimators for future bidding or negotiations, especially subcontractor performance evaluations.

Superintendent Job Requirements

• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and/or related experience as a Superintendent.
• Experience in managing construction projects and a thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures is essential.
• This manager-level can manage large projects of a complex nature and possibly multiple projects.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
