nThe Power global practice at Burns & McDonnell provides a multidisciplinary approach to power solutions from project financing, siting and permitting to turnkey construction and startup. Our experience covers the full breadth of power generation technologies - from gas turbines to solar, batteries, hydrogen, carbon capture and nuclear plant services.
nBurns & McDonnell is seeking to hire experienced Structural Engineers who will work on project teams to create world class energy storage designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects. As a Structural Engineer, you will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting structural plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
nResponsibilities to include:

Perform structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.

Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, energy storage facilities.
n n - n
Design structural components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
n n - n
Applies strong knowledge of commonly used structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering services industry.

Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
n n - n
Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
n n - n
Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of energy storage facilities.

Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
n n - n
Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
n- n
- n
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 4 years of structural engineering experience required.
n n - n
May also have a Bachelor's degree in Structural (or related) Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 4 years of structural engineering experience.

Master's degree in Structural Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
n n - n
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
n n - n
Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
n n - n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n n - n
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
n n - n
Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
n n - n
Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
n n - n
Strong computer skills include structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D) and BIM (e.g., Revit).
n n - n
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
n n
This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
