Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain predictive models to solve complex problems in risk segmentation, reserving, claims, and litigation
- Use advanced modeling techniques to evaluate historical loss performance for portfolios, identify key performance indicators, predict future loss cost and develop actionable strategies
- Research on latest modeling techniques and innovative features to improve existing models
- Clearly and effectively communicate actuarial results to external audiences including senior management
- Work with operations and product management teams to ensure risk/insurance aware business decisions
- Pursues professional development in the actuarial profession through rigorous self-study and successful completion of actuarial exams, with advancement toward the ultimate goal of FCAS
Experience:
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or similar
- 3+ years of experience in the P&C actuarial field (flexible scheduling during exam preparation and continuing education support for FCAS; we want to be part of your career development!)
- Experience with SQL and Python (or R) is required and experience in distributed computing (Spark) is a plus
- Working knowledge with Github
- Experience with modeling, pricing or reserving
- Personal or commercial auto insurance experience required
- Great communication and presentation skills Strong organization and time management skills

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $128,000 - $160,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
