Senior Technical Program Manager, Advanced Energy
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Google Advanced Energy Technologies team is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Technical Program Manager for Integrated Advanced Energy Partnerships. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in securing the partnerships and agreements to bring onsite and co-located advanced energy technologies and new deployment approaches to Google's global data center fleet. You will serve as the bridge between Google's technical data center requirements and the external energy market, driving the execution of projects that enhance energy resilience, enable the clean energy goals, and support Google's infrastructure growth. This position requires a blend of technical familiarity with emerging energy systems, data center infrastructure, and experience negotiating complex, precedent-setting energy agreements.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize partners, project opportunities, and deployment models for advanced onsite energy solutions at data centers and other infrastructure.
- Lead negotiations for a variety of complex agreements, including joint development agreements, and investments related to advanced energy projects.
- Drive alignment and buy-in with internal and external stakeholders to secure project approvals and investment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the advanced energy landscape, including emerging technologies such as next-generation energy storage, carbon capture, and thermal solutions, translating technical advancements into opportunities.
- Develop and refine standardized processes, templates, and best practices to accelerate the global level and replication of onsite energy projects across Google's operations.
