Sr. Tax Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research and planning, and providing technical accounting support. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong exposure in tax accounting and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Conduct tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities.
• Provide technical accounting support on complex accounting issues.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze accounts and prepare account reconciliations.
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records.
• Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial data.

Essential Skills

• CPA or working towards CPA certification.
• Experience in payroll and tax preparation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Desktop.
• Client-facing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in tax accounting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel, Pro Series, and Drake Accounting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
