Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Industrial Project Manager) to lead complex engineering projects for a major industrial manufacturing client. This role combines technical engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, overseeing large-scale mechanical systems from conception through completion while ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Engineering:

  Design and construct HVAC and plumbing systems using building information modeling (BIM)

  Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, architectural, and other disciplines for integrated building designs

  n

  Perform construction inspection and observation, producing detailed project reports

  n

• n

  Review and enhance existing engineering standards, techniques, and practices

  n

• n

  Evaluate and apply standard engineering procedures and judgment for complex system solutions

  n

• n

  Utilize Autodesk REVIT, CAD, and other design tools

  n
n
• n

  Review and edit technical specifications and documentation

  n
n

Project Leadership & Management:

• n

  Manage overall project administration and establish project-specific objectives and policies

  n

• n

  Provide leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and technical staff

  n
n
• n

  Serve as primary liaison between AECOM and client stakeholders

  n
n
• n

  Oversee all project phases from budgeting and scheduling through procurement and contract closeout

  n

• n

  Maintain significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned projects

  n
n
• n

  Ensure projects are executed in accordance with design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• n

  12+ years of Mechanical, HVAC, or process engineering for industrial manufacturing or water/wastewater environments

  n

• n

  Advanced project management certification

  n
n
• n

  Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects

  n

• n

  Proven project management experience with P&L responsibility

  n

• n

  Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT, CAD, and building information modeling

  n

• n

  Experience with HVAC and plumbing system design and construction

  n
n
• n

  Strong technical writing and communication skills

  n
n

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.
