Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Retail Licensing and Compliance Operations will be instrumental in overseeing the company's retail licensing and compliance processes, ensuring that all retail stores receive the necessary federal, state, and local retail licenses promptly. This role also includes establishing and managing compliance initiatives that relate to the company's retail activities, including alcohol, tobacco, food service, and lottery operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise a Retail Licensing Supervisor and a Senior Compliance Specialist, while indirectly overseeing a team of Retail Licensing Coordinators.
2. Establish and maintain departmental guidelines, including standard operating procedures, licensing software integrations, and compliance tracking.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Real Estate, and Construction on special projects related to acquisitions, divestments, and new store offerings.
4. Communicate with government agencies as necessary to resolve licensing and compliance issues.
5. Work closely with internal and external legal advisors as needed.
6. possess a strong understanding of the licensing process relevant to the convenience store industry.
7. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
8. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
9. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside attention to detail.
10. Work effectively within a small team while being self-motivated to undertake independent tasks.

Working Relationships:

Engage with federal, state, and local agencies including Boards of Health, Revenue Departments, Liquor Agencies, Licensing Boards, Fire Departments, as well as internal teams such as Regional Managers, District Managers, Store Managers, Construction Project Managers, Tax Dept, Accounts Payable, Real Estate, and Sales Marketing.

Minimum Education:

• Must have an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in retail licensing and compliance, with experience in team supervision or management.
• A positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Familiarity with licensing software (License HQ or similar web-based systems).

Travel: No travel required.

Hours & Conditions: Must be able to work in person at the corporate headquarters with the option for 1 day of remote work.

Physical Requirements: Mininal physical effort is required, with the ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs. This position’s essential functions can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
