Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will support the Combat Mission Systems business focused on ground combat vehicles. The role involves working closely with electronics suppliers to oversee and ensure high-quality manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA/CCA) and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures. The engineer will be co-located at the supplierâ€™s facility to provide hands-on technical oversight, resolve quality issues, and drive process improvements. Responsibilities include conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading supplier-based continuous improvement projects. The role requires experience in PCBA/CCA design and manufacturing, with proficiency in relevant IPC standards and strong communication skills to interface with suppliers, engineering teams, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns in production.
Conduct defect investigations and lead root-cause analysis to eliminate non-conformances.
Evaluate nonconforming products and assess supplier corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and product quality.
Promote a â€œZero Defectâ€ mindset within the supplier base.
Support process improvement projects to address recurring manufacturing issues.
Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings and cross-functional team discussions.
Ensure supplier compliance with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001, and related standards.
Provide clear reports, presentations, and progress updates to leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Operations.

Required Skills:

Effective, structured problem-solving abilities.
Strong understanding of technical drawings and compliance verification.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and related engineering software.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001 standards.
At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventive Action processes.

Preferred Skills:

Experience designing PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense applications.
Knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620 standards.
Familiarity with fabrication processes, test equipment, and instrumentation in aerospace/defense industries.
Understanding of AS9100 Quality Systems, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP, and Source Inspection.
Experience in low (28Vdc) and high voltage (610Vdc) power systems.
Knowledge of servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and testing.
Understanding of EMI/EMC design and environmental qualification principles.
Working knowledge of IPC-6012/6013/6018, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and ASME Y14.5 standards.

Education:
Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline (required).
