Join our dynamic team as a Software Engineer, where you will engage in agile software development methodologies to create innovative solutions and enhance our software systems. You will participate in software requirements reviews, as well as preliminary and critical design reviews. Your role will involve integration readiness and software acceptance reviews, along with researching problems and developing robust solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate within a team using agile software development methods.
• Participate in software requirements review and design reviews.
• Conduct integration readiness and software acceptance reviews.
• Research problems and develop solutions for software challenges.

Essential skills include:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• 0-7 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in software development using C++.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of Object Oriented design and development, including design patterns.
• Experience with Linux and UNIX development and test environments.
• Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or VSCode.
• Knowledge of UML syntax and its application in model-based tools like Rapsody.
• Familiarity with Git version control systems.
• Understanding of issue tracking systems like JIRA or Trello.

Additional skills and qualifications include:

• Familiarity with XUnit architecture testing for unit testing such as Google Test, jUnit, cppUnit.
• Experience with Ada programming language.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite including Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of Data Distribution Service (DDS).
• Experience with DevSecOps and automation tools like SonarQube and Jenkins.

Work environment:

Work on-site at Research Park, Huntsville.

Job type and location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, Alabama.

Pay and benefits:

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $67.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
