Hybrid Contract Role | I&C Engineer in Decatur AL
Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension
Note: 2 days remote acceptable
Job Summary:

Provides technical leadership, coordinates, and reviews the work of a small team of multidisciplinary engineers, specialists, technicians, and/or contractor personnel within an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineering work group. Serves as the primary point of contact for the work group regarding new or modified tasks, assigns work to lower-level staff, and is responsible for meeting designated completion dates.
In a working lead capacity, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day technical aspects of large and significant engineering projects, or several smaller projects with complex features. A substantial portion of the work directed is comparable to that performed by senior-level engineers.
Provides input to the engineering manager regarding work in progress, technical issues requiring elevation, and general workplace matters. Performs engineering work assignments as needed in a hands-on capacity and may be assigned senior-level engineering work in addition to lead responsibilities.
Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and practices across broad areas of assignment and project responsibility. Makes independent engineering judgments and decisions on design problems and methods.
At the request of the engineering manager, represents the work group in meetings to plan, schedule, and coordinate projects; resolve technical issues; and report or obtain information.

Note: This role does not include supervisory administrative duties such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staffing decisions, leave approvals, promotions, or pay changes.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited curriculum, plus appropriate continuing education.
Several years of experience in electrical and I&C engineering design projects, preferably in a plant environment.
At least one year of experience within a nuclear organization.
