Senior Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview

Join our team as a Permanent Full-Time Senior Diesel Mechanic to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder. We are offering an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals looking to further their careers in a supportive environment.

• Hourly Pay: $33.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus: Earn $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Potential to earn up to $500 every quarter
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekends off
• Hours: First Shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines, including preventative maintenance
• Basic diagnostics and repairs expertise required
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
• Must have at least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs on heavy-duty equipment
• Computer skills required
• This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles, so you must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools
• Perform detailed mechanical inspections with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work independently on various tasks
• Engage with customers/drivers to assess issues
• Utilize shop management systems and comply with safety guidelines
• Mentor junior technicians
