About Your Role

At Fiserv, we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As a Senior Data Engineer within Data Commerce Solutions, your work will fuel smarter decisions and drive innovation.

You will take ownership of designing and delivering impactful data engineering, integration, and warehousing solutions. You will build seamless API-driven connections across cloud platforms, and transform raw data into powerful, analytics-ready models using Java, Python, and SQL. You will also architect scalable pipelines, launch intuitive data products, and champion data quality while becoming a trusted expert in your domain.

What You Will Do

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable data architecture and create robust data processing pipelines.
2. Design and implement data models that align with business requirements, enabling seamless data access and analytics.
3. Identify opportunities to enhance data processing efficiency and implement performance optimizations for our data pipelines.
4. Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data.
5. Collaborate with the security team to enforce data privacy standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
6. Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data needs, provide technical support, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
7. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, data flows, and system configurations.

What You Will Need To Have

• 10+ years of experience in an IT related role.
• 6+ years of experience building large-scale big data applications.
• 3+ years of technical leadership, specifically developing data solutions, building frameworks, and designing solutions for processing large volumes of data using data processing tools and Big Data platforms.
• 3+ years of experience building Data Lakes, EDW, and data applications on Azure cloud.
• Experience using major programming/scripting languages like Java, and or Python and with cluster and parallel architecture, high-scale databases and SQL, and exposure to NoSQL databases like Cassandra, HBase, DynamoDB, and Elastic Search.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies like Kafka / Apache Beam/ Spark and working with PCI Data, collaborating with data scientists including data governance, security, and privacy principle.
• Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.

What Would Be Great To Have

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and data science workflows.
• Experience utilizing containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Important Info About This Role

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
