Phlebotomist - Morning Shift

Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Phlebotomist where you will perform essential responsibilities focused on patient care and specimen collection. This role is critical for ensuring accurate diagnostics and fostering a supportive environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform various phlebotomy techniques (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) while minimizing discomfort for patients.
2. Identify patients meticulously and label specimen tubes according to established protocols.
3. Prioritize and execute STAT draws, ensuring prompt transport of specimens to the lab.
4. Utilize computer systems for accurate information verification and order entry.
5. Organize work to complete all assigned responsibilities by shift end.
6. Collaborate with coworkers and communicate effectively with lab departments to maintain workflow standards.
7. Assist in training new employees and student interns under supervision.
8. Adhere to all organizational policies and be adaptable to changes in assignment.
9. Act as a receptionist in the outpatient lab when required, providing excellent customer service.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization in phlebotomy and lab areas, including daily cleaning tasks.
11. Record daily refrigerator temperatures and notify supervisors of any issues.
12. Embrace technology and foster a culture of safety and adherence to universal precautions.

Job Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a high school education; preference for advanced qualifications.

Experience: Preferred one year of full-time phlebotomy experience.

Certifications: Certification or eligibility with the National Phlebotomy Association is preferred.
