Job Description

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary. General Duties

• Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently.
• Follows specific regularly scheduled routes, and charter routes or responds to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
• Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicles.
• Loads and unloads luggage, packages, and other items.

Preventative maintenance and records of vehicle repairs:

• Inspect the exterior and interior of the vehicle at the beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, air conditioning or heating, vehicle damage, etc.
• Recognizes vehicle maintenance needs.
• Prepares concise, accurate records and reports.
• Understands and adheres to the rules and regulations of the Federal Transit Administration and/or Department of Transportation.

Follows all safety and security guidelines as well as vehicle safety procedures:

• Inspects vehicles daily and follows pre-route vehicle inspection guidelines.
• Follows all traffic regulations diligently.

Provides a communication link between customers and staff:

• Responds immediately to accidents or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers, and rendering CPR until emergency personnel arrive.

Minimum Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 1 year of driving experience.
• Preferred: 3 years of Commercial Driver experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification Name: Valid Louisiana State Driver's License

Work Shift: Variable Hours (United States of America)
